Great old sckoo photo 1977 gezz those were exciting days. What a portrait of the way trains were and looked like back then. Those UP automated railway slogans on boxcars as well as WP with the big feather on the side the Feather River Route slogan and the song off a Clapton record " That mean ole Frisco an that lowdown Santa Fe"and yes lest we not forget " The route of EL Capitan " a famous passenger train that ran with all the mile by mile style. ALL those great slogans, ill a noise Central "the mainline of mid America " The Katy, and its famous "serves the southwest well" an to " Rocky " the Great Northerns goat emblem. The NP had quite a trademark emblem. The band Grand Funk Railroad got their name from the the cool ole Grand Trunk Western and thats a fact. All these an many more mostly American railroads sadly are gone but not forgotten like relatives always fondly remembered and were loved. Thanks Brian like your photo. Its always nice to see a caboose on a train esp on the rear. Ahhh the great smell of freshly creasoted railroad ties a basking in the sun always bring memories of walking the train tracks in the summer travels.
