At least I don't have to do ballet poses to adjust a coupler on my trains, tapping it with a bamboo skewer works just fine.

Knuckle adjustment isn't in accord with 21st Century safety rules.

I did construction work as a young man, and the risks we routinely took - to save a little time, or because we did not have the tools/equipment we needed - were insane. At least these guys were making good money. We did it for $4.00 an hour (and occasionally less). Then again, even good money isn't worth losing a foot.
