Seems like that people and certain companies do not care about the past anymore. In their minds, if it is old, get rid of it. It takes a lot of effort to save something here lately as it could have been relocated to a reilroad museum or something. I drove a truck all over the country from one end to the other beginning 1973. In 1977, I bought a Mack R Model truck with a 237 HP diesel engine. For years I drove that truck and other drivers used to hassle me about when was I going to buy a better truck? All I did when it was time, was to either rebuild the engine or replace it completely with the same engine. So, here it is 2021 and that truck is 44 years old with its third engine. Still runs. Got a almost 30 year old 1992 Nissan Sentra and my relatives have been bugging me to get more "modernized" with a better car. Why trade? I get 40 to 45 MPG out of it. Most newer cars don't. Again, why get rid of something that is considered to be old-fashioned. i see old railroad signals being replaced all the time. Depots torn down. To me, it seems like history itself is being replaced and torn down. I guess that I am an "Old School" type of person and I am not ashamed of it either.
