Actually these are classified as SD45m. They have the same extended boxed cab aft of the radiators, but it was filled with concrete for ballast. They wanted the longer frame to accommodate a larger fuel tank for extended range.

I never did understand why they didn't go with an "SD45A" like IC did with the SD40A; the SD40's machinery centered on an SDP45 frame.
