Those LMXs were almost annoying in the 2000s in how widespread they were, though mainly because they pointed out the near-lack of other GEs in lease service. I have to remind myself there was a time when they were cool, and specifically cool *because* they were new, in the last era that happened -- in more modern times, engines could only be interesting because they were old, or *in spite of* being new. The LMXs were really important in keeping late BN's not-very-diverse fleet at all interesting.
