Nice scheme. George, was this a former passenger locomotive or always in freight service? Looks much like the SBB Re 460 I see so much in passenger service. Thank you for your photo.

The 18 locomotives of BLS's Re 465 series, built between 1994 and 1997, have always been used for both passenger and freight service. Since the retirement of the type III standard cars, however, they are now used exclusively in freight service by BLS Cargo, in the future also with the car transport trains through the Lötschberg summit tunnel (as a replacement for the Re 4/4 (Re 425)). All 18 Re 465 will get the new lime-gren paint scheme after a refit, most of them already have it.
