Shure wish these ran by my place every once and a while streaking by and looking great. What a spectacular model and paint job. First class I say. Lets just say this photo is.......wait......hmm..." simply irresistible ".

Faster then a speeding bullet. Built to blast out of the stall on a hurry up call. This fine loco would get you to the church on time. One of the best looking steamers in my opinion. And its grimy to. Looks as if she's ready for the next Black Diamond Express. Great photo Ed.

Ah, streamlining. As the PCC car tried to make a trolley look like a bus, streamlining tried to make a living breathing steamer look like a diesel, with a modest amount of success.

I've seen a black and white photo or two of this engine but never anything in color. The comments by "beano" above just about say it all for me, too! For comparison, Bert Pennypacker wrote a feature for "Railroad" Magazine called "When Steam Ruled the Lehigh Valley", published sometime in 1969. One of the engines featured had a rounded window and the caption stated the engine had been previously streamlined. Might have been this one but I don't know how many LV steamers received this treatment. No matter what, this engine was beautiful and it's a shame it wasn't preserved.

The "Black Diamond" art deco steam locomotive looks spectacular, even when it's livery is dirty and grimy, as shown in this photo. I'm so happy I made the right decision to buy an HO scale brass model of the "Black Diamond". It was quite expensive. But, I'm glad I bought it.
