Anyone ever notice how much smaller the fuel tanks were on FM locomotives. I guess the OP engines fuel efficiency had to be much higher than all the other engines that had cylinder heads. I still wonder what would have happened if FM had made it to a 2nd generation OP engine. People forget that EMD introduced their 2nd gen motor the 567 in 1938 and had even improved that engine twice before these FM's were even built.
