Yes, those were the days. My uncle used to ride in the caboose working for the old Louisville & Nashville. Uncle Bill used to tell me a lot of railroad stories of things he had done and seen riding in the "little red house" as he called them. One time, he got permission for me to ride with him on a run in the early 1960's. It was absolute fun riding in the "little red house". That is when I became a "railfan" and 60+ years later still am. Actually reside along the CSX KD Subdivision here in Campbell County, TN and see the new stuff going by. I still reflect on the past times of watching trains. Good to be alive then.

Surprised a back up hose is connected when the cab has its own back up brake valve and whistle - unless it hasn't been renovated to a working condition.
