In June 1962, I was on board the eastbound 20th Century Limited when it was detoured via Selkirk due to a fire on the Albany passenger mainline bridge. I was headed for Albany, and the New York Central had a bus on hand at Selkirk to take Albany passengers into Union Station from the Century and other diverted trains.
