If the Santa Fe lasted until the latest power was introduced, there wouldn't have been enough room for that "Santa Fe" billboard lettering on the hood sides any more - the dynamic brake/inverter "cab" and the radiator "cab" have grown so much that there just isn't that much "hood" space left.
Even though they would need to do something different, they should bring the name back, maybe after a merger with either NS or CSX - the Atlantic, Pacific, and SANTA FE!
