The CSX merger took place two years earlier, but Chessie appears to still be running the show on this day in 1988 at the former C&O Fulton Yard.

Another early CSX oddity, a GP 16 wearing CSX paint. By the early 90's, the GP 16s were no longer active on CSX, there probably weren't many others that received a CSX paint job.

The fourth unit on this train is an SD45, this was one of only a few times that I saw a 45 in active service on CSX.

A real rarity on CSX, I believe there were only two NW2s on the roster at this time.

Showing off CSX's brand new "Bright Future" paint scheme, 5895 leads a passenger special westbound at Point of Rocks.

You won't see any GEVOs or dark future engines in this shot, but five different paint schemes are visible - CSX, Chessie, B&O, Seaboard System, and Family Lines.

Too bad the middle engine wasn't another Chessie unit, although the UP SD40-2 was probably a good catch at the time since foreign power was a lot less common in '91!
