In late afternoon twilight helpers drift down the siding between Tunnel 41 and Norden. I think this was my last picture of the SP before the UP took over.
A flanger enters the east end of the Norden Shed before crossing over to the #1 track to help keep the tracks clear.
Snow fighters!! Just The spreader begins to work west on track #1 while the eastbound flanger waits. Those tracks in the foreground were from me, it was about mid thigh deep-with snow shoes.

A westbound train climbs Track 1, the original Donner crossing, toward the summit. Track 1 was later removed and is today a MOW road.
After adjusting the plow upon exiting the Norden shed, the spreader works westbound on the #2 track.
The speader waits on the #1 while a westbound train pulls up the finally portion of the grade out of the "big hole"
After crossing over inside the shed, the westbound flanger heads down the #2 while other Donner snow fiend Dick Dorn shoots him exiting.
Yet again, the spreader is out plowing.....what a sight to see!
The snow train winds through Norden as it is a few feet from the Norden shed.
A very cold day following a fierce storm reveals this beautiful SP loco as it waits for the spreader to clear tunnel #41
The spreader gently negotiates the #2 track while a westbound passes.
I had a good time with Donner while stationed at Travis AFB. GOD I MISS THAT PLACE!!!!
Bright sun.....fresh snow.....fresh paint.....priceless!
