I've "run" all 3 of these locomotives as part of my steam engineer course. Fluency in German is a prerequisite for the course. It's a neat deal.
The engineer is topping off the 4 tons of coal before we departed into the mountains. By the end of our shift that evening, the 4 tons would be gone completely.
Take a closer look at the billboard to the right of the engineer's side. The image on the billboard is the same location as in this picture.
