A somewhat late Capitol Limited negotiates the east slope of Sand Patch. Fall has come and gone, leaving a few browned leaves clinging to the trees.

The day draws to an end, and shadows grow long as the sun sets on a PM caboose bringing up the markers and rolling into twilight across the frozen Michigan winter landscape.

A few miles south of Davenport, the tri-weekly train is bringing home a light load back to Watsonville Junction. This train will be in view of the Pacific for most of it's journey.

The sun still has a few hours left above the horizon, but this is the last 475 will see of it as she pulls the last train of the day west towards Strasburg.

Due to a passing cold front off of the coast of California, the cloudy conditions add a bit of drama to this image. This is a westbound stack train, heading for the Port of Long Beach, California.
