CP 3084 overnights at Golden. Taken with permission in the early morning hours.

CP 3084 replaced the CP 2816 (which is down for repairs) on this scheduled Children's Wish Foundation run.

The daily wayfrieght approaches Harrogate. A later than usual departure time, and high water in the Columbia Wetlands made for some great scenes.

Eastbound along the narrows in the Kicking Horse Canyon.

CP 2816, followed by CP 1401, travels through a tight gorge along the Kicking Horse River as it approaches Field West.

A curious lash-up on the Rocky Mountaineer today. I wonder if there is a VIP section at the head end. And today's helper is CN 5511, an SD60F.

Eastbound Train CP209 takes the south track to allow the Rocky Mountaineer to pass on the north track. Oh darn, I'll have to come back on another sunny afternoon and try again ;-)

Looks like the Olympic scheme from last year has been replaced by the new Rocky Mountaineer scheme. And "The Pride of Kamloops" herald has been replaced by president and founder Peter Armstrong's ... (more)

The wayfrieght is coming up to Canal Flats to do some switching at the sawmill.

A SOO SOO train on the Windermere Sub. Two SD60s lead today's wayfrieght south to Cranbrook. The sun is just starting to crest over the Rockies.

Now just another CP red GE. CP 8862 waits at Lake Louise no longer sporting the 2010 Winter Olympic paint scheme.

Eastbound CP 8862 waits at Lake Louise for 2 westbounds before continuing on to single track.

CP 8882 and CP 9831 climb up the hill westbound, taking the north track out of Lake Louise. Mount Hector sits in the background.

After a crew change at Field, westbound CP 9663 leads 9217 feet of train past CP115 and onto the CP Mountain Subdivision. I'll admit, the puddle reflection was not entirely planned.

A westbound crests the rise past the derelict church at the community of Notch Hill. Local residents have braced the walls and ceiling of this building that has not been used in over 40 years. ... (more)
