Norfolk & Western 1636 and 1770 are teamed up with two Santa Fe's to power a train up the hill to tunnel 9 and around the famous Tehachapi Loop.
WC 7507 leads a grain train east out of the Tucson yard. Just about any sort of pool power could be found on the point of a train going east over "The Stormy".
Santa Fe 5053 leads NW 6115 and two Santa Fe GP-30s out of tunnel 9 while the caboose and three helpers cross over on top as the train rolls around the famous Tehachapi Loop.
BNSF 6622 east, with heritage one paint BNSF 1019, are racing along at track speed with a 15 car stack "sprint" train a few miles east of Encino, New Mexico.
It is a beautiful night out as the headlight from BNSF 9000 lights up the CSX bridge over Interstate 24. We could hear the train for a long time as it was grinding up the hill with an eastbound NS... (more)
