At the moment the mainline is hot with empty ballast train W089 making its way north through Broughton. Another northbound would be the next train through, but that would be over 2 hours later.

On a cold and clear morning, I025 rolls through Broughton on the heels of auto train Q203. Only around 10% of the 152 cars on this train had containers on them.

Rolling through with 108 shiny coal hoppers, the race is on as this train rushes north racing a setting sun.

Four 3000 series Bay Line locomotives, wait with a cut of cars near the diesel shop in PC Florida. This area still shows damage from hurricane Michael that hit in 2018.

Today this north bound is composed of 380 axles, mixed freight and two GE locomotives. It is bound for Birmingham out of Rice Yard in Waycross, GA.

Fixing to get things moving, CSXT #5217 has a short consist in tow. Today there isn't much occupying the Dothan Yard tracks, but there has been times when it can be nearly full.

Beginning to make it out of the 30mph zone, 5,783 feet of train accelerates through Broughton with the usual GE power.

The Southwest Chief quickly slows down as it prepares to stop at Amtrak's Flagstaff station. This is one of two passenger trains that stop here daily. Amtrak 3 will arrive later at night.
