A southbound UP Intermodal climbs the steep grade just before tunnel #2 in the Tehachapi Pass.

First light hits Cajon Summit as a westbound UP Intermodal passes through.

A northbound hauls empty lumber racks through Cajon Pass.

The JACBAR with it's 4 axle power heads up by the finally completed new signal tower at Silverwood.

With the new cantilever tower finally in service this eastbound passes under it as it crests Cajon Summit.

The days are dwindling that we'll be able to get shots like this. Only a few months remain before tunnels #1 & 2 are gone thanks to a 3rd main being built. For now though we relish the smoke when ... (more)

Cresting the Cajon Pass on the UP Palmdale Cut-off this norhtbound passes the Cajon Forest! It may not be big, but it sure is pretty!

Running north past CP Canyon this manifest train with UP 2002 in the consist is about to cross Hwy.138.

A nice new shiny SD70ACe heads north by work starting along Sullivan's Curve for the BNSF main #3 project.

The Riverside Lead Local shoves back into the Old Colton Yard. Behind this train was another awaiting it's turn into the yard also, never seen two on the line before.

An eastbound UP running all elephant style leads this 10,000+ foot stacktrain up to Cajon Station.

The San Berdo Helpers push an eastbound up and over the summit. Work continues on the grading for the 3rd main. Also a UP sits on the Palmdale Cut-off above the BNSF lines.

A westbound comes down main #1 between Daggett and Nebo. The new main #3 that goes between Barstow and Daggett can clearly be seen.

An eastbound exits tunnel #2 and as you can see the end of the tunnels is near as the dirt is being removed from the top down for the addition of main #3 through the Cajon Pass.
