A busy day at Pitcairn!

AM-Freight. A special train run by Amtrak to shuttle merchandise handling cars (Amtrak speak for box cars) between NY area and Chicago.This one had about 30 to 40 cars on it.

Three freight trains at CP Wing. Yes the Amtrak train is a solid string of box cars being moved from NY to Chicago.

Three across at CP Wing. The train pulling out is departing Pitcairn Intermodal Yard.

A van train pulls out of the Pitcairn Yard lead track as a double stack train waits on 98 track.

The local had a lot of cars this day. This ground level shot gives a good view of how the tracks were undercut for the double stacks to pass under bridges on the former Pensy mainline.

Three units work hard to start their train west after having stopped for the signal at CP Wing.

You can't get this same photo anymore, the entire area in this scene is now filled with buildings and shops of The Waterfront. This is the former site of US Steel's Homestead Works.
