Departing South Amboy

With its retirement a few months away, the PRR 2946 powered SA35 climbs up the Church Running Track and into the remains of the once great South Amboy yard on a dreary Jersey day.

ALP44M leads a train under the old overpass at South Amboy Station en route to Long Branch on the North Jersey Coast Line.

Conrail JR-2 carefully crosses the center swing section of the Raritan River bridge with former EL 3677 in the lead. The fishermen barely seem to notice the passage of the train.

An eastbound train to New York at South Amboy.

A goose floating in the Raritan Bay pays no attention to this northbound NJT train lead by NJT 4218. Amazingly, the APTA special would catch the attention of all the geese along the shore.

A lone goose hangs out on the shoreline of the Raritan River and watches the PRR E8's and their 6-car consist cross the bridge.

I'm a day late with this shot but Happy Flag Day(June 14th) anyway! NJT train #2303 crosses over the Raritan River separating Perth and South Amboy while boaters enjoy the warm weather.
