With steam and smoke pouring out of every point, the Nickel Plate Road 765 Memorial Day excursion sits for a few minutes at AR tower while many railfans grab photos.

The Horseshoe Curve Special is a few miles east of the curve as the 765 starts to dig into the grade west of Altoona.

The NKP 765 waits for her passengers to load for the return trip back for the evening.

Before I lost my camera bag, I caught 765 here in Duncannon, leading the train to Lewistown.

While dozens of other photographers opted to shoot the other side of the curve, four of us enjoyed the view from the east side as NKP 765 rolled back towards Altoona.

NS 061, with NKP 765 on the point, knocks down Automatic 1721W en route to Altoona. NS 8102 (PRR) and NS 8098 (CR) accompany the 765 for the ride.
