Former Canadian Pacific H1c Royal Hudson 2839 is ready to leave Atlanta with a Southern railway excursion yo Chattanooga, TN.

The NS 15M, with the Interstate Heritage unit leading, heads west across the Conneaut Creek Trestle in Conneaut, Ohio. This bridge is slated for replacement sometime in the next year.

Well into NS days but looking good this southbound rattles thru town. As i recall this was the first time we encountered a certain Mr. Wrinn, then a local reporter.

Somewhat later GP38-2 having been built with paper air filters after the wait-and-see Southern got onboard with that innovation.

Built with oil bath air filters in the mid-70s, by this date SOU had converted to paper filters as reflected by the modification.
