This new signal bridge is one of the infrastructure improvements involved in reconfiguring BNSF's trackage on the east side of Everett, making room for redevelopment projects. So long, Mill Town!

What with run throughs and borrowed power, you can "expect any train [locomotive] from any direction at any time"! Here, an NS leads a BNSF stacker south to Seattle.

Locally, cabooses are used to cover long back-up moves on the main line. It's nice to see one get the respect, and fresh paint, this duty deserves!
