A westbound empty coal, headed by 5514, 5508 and 5513 swings alongside the Colorado river as they enter Little Gore Canyon, between Azure and Radium, in September 1985.

During a let up in a snow storm, an eastbound coal departs Troublesome siding, east of Kremmling, behind 5374, 5351, 5404 and 5366 in January 1982.

Crossing open country alongside the Colorado River, between Gore and Little Gore Canyons, 3100, 3082, 3093 and 3091 and their westbound freight have just run through Azure siding in June 1981.

On a very wintery day in January 1982, 3107 and 3069 make their way from Azure siding into Gore Canyon with a short eastbound freight.

One last look at the RGZ before the photographer returned to UK - 5771, 5762, 253 and 5763 chant through open country near Troublesome siding, east of Kremmling, in April 1982.

Not as esthetically pleasing, but now history never-the-less. 3106 fills in for 5771 on the westbound Rio Grande Zephyr near Troublesome in June 1981, with Wilson McCarthy bringing up the rear.

Seriously dwarfed by nature, the air reverberates to the drone of four GPs making their slow westbound journey through Gore Canyon, high above the Colorado River, in June 1981.

Five locomotives and a caboose head west out of Gore Canyon towards Azure siding and, ultimately, Phippsburg to work back an eastbound coal train. Locomotives were 5504 5513 5517 5404 and 5366.
