N&W Class J 611 is westbound on the Blue Ridge Grade on a ferry move from the North Carolina Transportation in Spencer NC to the Virginia Museum of Transportation in Roanoke VA.

#611 leads "The American" through Delaplane. The train is making a brief stop to inspect an axle on the water tank after tripping a defect detector.
