The coal fired, steam powered, car ferry Chief Wawatam is being loaded by Soo Line GP-30 708 at the St. Ignace dock in June of 1979.

First derailment I ever saw was Soo Line 944 piling up 27-cars due to a broken rail. Soo track inspector Irv Nissen was ordered off tracks to let train 944 pass. Train found broken rail - ouch!
