Remarks:Bank Right! Exiting the Rock Bore Tunnel at Drano Lake, BNSF 4059 leads a westbound grain train towards the Seattle/Tacoma area. After arriving, the load will be transferred onto a ship for global distribution. The elevation around the curve in this location really makes for some interesting photography.
Remarks: Late on a very hot summer afternoon, an eastbound loaded coal train is in the charge of a half-dozen big GEs working hard up the 1% grade out of Woodside. The massive Book Cliffs loom in the distance, their overwhelming presence giving an entirely apt name to this spot on the old D&RGW mainline in the desert north of Green River, Utah: Vista.
