Remarks: While looking for a suitable angle to set up the lighting that would be used to illuminates the train a little more, a railfan gets a nose shot of NS 4271 as it sits on the former helper pocket siding inside Penn Station in Pittsburgh, PA during a layover on their tour of Shire Oaks and Shelocta runs. (Photographer on siding was there WITH permission.)

Remarks: What a mess. Earlier in the day, someone had ripped the gate off the crossing at Blue Island, which meant every train had to be flagged at the crossing and creep through, which meant a lot of backups. Across the tracks, a Saturn Sky waits as a CN maintainer tries to go about his business of fixing the crossing gate as a photographer interrupts him.

Remarks: The IRM might be one of the best railroad museums I have ever visited. On Labor Day 2009, they had 4 trains running continously, including CBQ 9911A which is absolutely amazing to see, sitting under a picture perfect sky.
