Remarks: Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. NS roadrailer heads south of the former CofG Griffin District past the Civil War era Jonesboro depot. It was interesting seeing the latest in railroad technology, roadrailers on jointed rail which is rumored to be on borrowed time. The nice looking CR unit and a cloudless blue day didnt hurt either.

Remarks: A set of former Seaboard equipment sits on display at Talking Rock, GA along the GNRR mainline. The caboose is a former SCL M5, its former number is unknown. The second passenger car started life as SAL 271, later going into MOW service during the Seaboard System era as SBD 772047, and later CSXT 992047. The second cars heritage is unknown past the Seasboard System era, where it served in MOW service as SBD 771261, and later CSX 991261. The cars were acquired by GNRR after they were retired by CSX but were not in good enough shape to be used on GNRR's blue ride scenic so they were donated to the town of Talking Rock.

Remarks: Spirit of the B&O CSX 900400 was painted in this beautiful red paint scheme in 2003 to honor the 175th anniversary of the B&O railroad. The project was undertaken by B&O historian Dwight Jones who paid for all materials and painted the caboose himself. Thanks Dwight for this great looking caboose and a rolling commemoration of America's first railroad.

Remarks: CSX U211 highballs southbound along the A&WP sub through a field of flowers just south of the town of Palmetto. The train is somewhat of a anomaly as coal trains south of Union City on the A&WP are rare.

Remarks: A NS autorack lead by a pair of GEVO's passes a baretable train at Peters St near the Spring St. interlocking. The Atlanta skyline can be seen in the background, including the Bank of America tower, the tallest building in the US outside of New York and Chicago. To the right is the remains of the Terminal Station trackage, which was torn down in the 1970's and stood where the large white Richard B. Russel building now stands.
