| Remarks: NS train D45 got an early start out of Peoria this morning but didn't make it too far before hitting this gravel truck and then wedging it under the TP&W viaduct at Farmdale. The train continued on a little later in the morning, but the truck was done for the day. Note: The train crew was ok (standing by me while I took photos) and the truck driver survived since he was throw from the cab on impact. |

I like the remark on this photo, pretty funny. |

That placard says that the truck is also used to haul asbestos. Dumb question, but how did the truck driver make out? I'm guessing by your remarks that the NS crew was OK? Great photo. |

At least NS got some free ballast. |

Could have been hauling asbestos waste to a landfill. The placard matches that story. |

Boy, you got to love the blue on that engine. |

I'm guessing the trailer was empty, the tarp appears to be rolled up. You would never haul asbestos contaminated material without tarping. But then, you aren't supposed to drive in front of a train, either. |

Unless he jumped, I don't think that driver made it. And seeing as how he was placarded, he should have stopped before crossing the tracks, then he wouldn't have been in this mess. |

"Nothing runs like a Deere." Well, that is certainly true for that truck. |
