| Remarks: Open observation car "Lookout Mountain" brings up the rear of an excursion train being powered by the Royal Hudson. Judging from that NC state flag, I am guessing the train is headed back to Greensboro. Lynchburg used to be excursion train heaven back in the days. Trains would come to Lynchburg from all four directions to be turned on the wyes at Montview and Kinney yards. |

Thanks for sharing, I was fortunate enough to enjoy my first train ride in the early '80s on these 'open-air' coaches in their last years of service with NS's steam program. The next year NS had banned them from use. |
