Remarks: This locomotive was involved in a collision 12/17/2007 between the towns of Derby and Mulvane Kansas. The unit was leading the Red Rock coal train when it collided with a UP local, taking impacts from several cars. The crew apparently survived. It's in the early stages of repair at CEECO. Extreme Cross section!

I'd say this one is going to require MANY stages of repair.

There was a collision between the towns of Derby, KS and Mulvane, KS? I hope the towns weren't injured too badly! (Sorry, I couldn't resist...) But, seriously ... This graphically illustrates that the wide-nose safety cabs are pretty effective, as there is actually very little damage to the crew area.

Unreal, that this isn't going back to Erie, PA for rebuilding.... Amazing more so, that the crew survived!
