An eastbound intermodal meets a westbound counterpart waiting in the siding west of Hood River, Oregon, at Mitchell Point, a scenic outlook along the Columbia River. Powering the eastbound is UP 4548, 8430, 4636 and 4818, while UP 5187, 9367 and 4865 head up the westbound. After waiting for what seemed like an eternity for anything to show up, the westbound arrives, then the eastbound arrives for the meet while a short BNSF eastbound passes on the other side of the river in Washington. I was hurredly switching between my tripod mounted 300mm and my 50mm lenses to shoot both; when it rains, it pours. To see the BNSF freight, click here. 1131hrs.
