| Remarks: Reminders of a different era. The railroad Gulch was once the heart of southeast railroads, with two large passenger stations and miles of rail. Today 50 or more trains still pass through but the glory is gone. Terminal Station was torn down in 1972, all that remains is the decaying South tower seen here. In the background is the former offices of the Southern Railway, which was closed when NS moved the offices to midtown Atlanta. In the foreground among the weeds can be seen the former station leads to the Terminal Station platform along with the one remaining platform used on rare occasions by NS. |

I started to tell you to load this shot here when I saw it on another web site. It's an impressive, yet sad, view. Good work. |

Very nice shot Nikos. I worked on the 6th floor in the office building, on the right side of this photo directly above the tower. That was definitely an office with a great view of the tracks behind the building. I was very disappointed when NS moved us from this building, as there is no railroad in sight at our new location. |

This is a nice little gem, really interesting to examine. |
