The changing of the guard - A batch of BNSF Railway Dash 8-40CW diesels has been sold to Canadian National. These engines were shipped from Commerce (near Los Angeles), where they were in storage, to Barstow, where they had their BNSF markings painted out and CN logos and new cab numbers applied, and new number boards installed. These engines are wearing three different paint schemes - some are in the old Santa Fe "Warbonnet" scheme, some are in BNSF's "Premium Heritage" (or H2) scheme, and others (as seen here on the former BNSF 846) are in the 2005 "wedge" scheme.
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
