Service tracks downtown under the 28th St. bridge was where Alco "roadswitchers" used in commuter service were found (see coach yard in the distance), along with those "geeps" (General Purpose) engines from EMD. In reality both products were general purpose, but the EMD's were the ones thought of as geeps. The early ones of both models had high hoods. Little did anyone know then the geep, from EMD, would become the industry standard through the second and into the third generation of diesel motive power. Both had the PRR inductive radiophone antenna.
