Remarks & Notes |
BR Standard Class 7 ‘Britannia’ No 70013 Oliver Cromwell hauls an excursion from Bristol to Crewe through Pontrilas along the North-West Route on a rare sunny November day. Cardiff Canton based Britannia’s were regular performs along this Route in the 1950’s with trains between Plymouth, Bristol, Cardiff, Swansea and the North West cities of Manchester and Liverpool. Pontrilas still boasts a traditional signal cabin and semaphore signals which are all too rare in the UK. The train was running 62 minutes late due to a earlier fatality at Bristol Stapleton Road |
