Chicago & North Western R-1 175 is stored at the old Quincy Mining Company smelter in Hancock, Michigan. The 4-6-0 pulled some fan trips in the late 1950s, and was to supposed have been donated to the National Railroad Museum in Green Bay, Wisc. However, after being stored in Winona, Minn., for many years and deteriorating badly, the museum didn't want it. No. 175 was then moved to Michigan's Keweenaw Central tourist railroad, and when it closed the locomotive was stored. The NP tender is reportedly off of a rotary snow plow.
This will be photos that were taken north of Green Bay on the C&NW ore lines. Mainly photos of ore trains will be in this album along with some manifest trains and switch jobs that worked the area.
