Montana Rail Link’s Paradise Local has finished running around its train at St. Regis, Montana, and is departing westbound for Paradise on September 15, 2011. Powered by two former Northern Pacific GP9s, the local is about to pass under Milwaukee Road’s abandoned Pacific Extension main line and bridge that spanned the Clark Fork. The girder bridge that crossed here was removed by MRL and relocated to Lombard in a siding lengthening project that crossed Sixteen Mile Creek.
