From 2005 through 2013, Watco's Yellowstone Valley Railroad operated the BNSF's Montana routes from Glendive to Snowden and from Bainville to Scobey. Operation headquarters was in Sidney. On July 30, 2011, WAMX 3822 hangs out near the shop. The Bakken oil boom ultimately led to BNSF resuming operations over the lines, and YSVR now only provides switching operations for a frac sand terminal on the line at Dore, ND.
