Remarks & Notes
One Engine, Five Numbers.

Southern Pacific SD35 3102, seen on November 8th, 1980, rolling through the railroad's West Colton Yard in Bloomington, California, was built by EMD in February 1965. Originally SP number 4838, it was renumbered to 6922 within its first year. Years later, it was renumbered yet again to SP 6950. In 1980, the year this photograph was taken, it received its fourth number: 3102. (The actual renumber date was 4/28/80.) It was renumbered again, on 9/18/93, to number 2957, in order to avoid a conflict with Rio Grande units following the D&RGW's acquisition of the SP.
