ILSX900 SW8 working for the Chicago Terminal Railroad, finished with its' work, puffs out a little smoke at it throttles up and pulls the full gondolas back toward the swing bridge.
Traffic jam! The train sat blocking Cortland Street for several minutes while a switch was thrown, and once the train retreated, the vehicular floodgates were opened.
Further down the line the crew works to "throw the switch" to drop off a boxcar for their test run. This, however, is an especially difficult task because the switch levers were removed long ago.... (more)
