Los Angeles Junction S2 switcher #1, the first of five Alco S2s purchased by the LAJ, rests outside the railroad's engine shed in their Vernon, California, yard on March 10th, 1973. This engine was built by American Locomotive Company (Alco) for the LAJ in February 1941.
