Southern Pacific TR6A 1100 (ex-4600, nee-EMD 1600) was formerly part of a TR6 cow-calf set. (TR6s are essentially SW8s paired, via a drawbar, with a cabless unit, with the two locomotives forming a TR6 cow-calf set.) SP 1100 was the first TR6A built, constructed in November 1950, and the SP replaced the drawbars on their three TR6s not long after delivery. It is seen here resting in SP’s Taylor Yard, wearing very faded SP scarlet and gray. SP 1100 was retired on February 7, 1983. (Los Angeles, California – April 29, 1976)
