| Departing San Francisco with commute "plug" #140, SP Train Master #3020 pulls across 4th St. It is July 1973 and within two years, the depot will be torn down and SP's fleet of FM Train Masters will meet the torch. In the right background, construction is underway for the Southern Freeway extension---which never opened and will become one of San Francisco's "freeways to nowhere" and later torn down. |
