One of the Talgo sets split the consist down tracks 2 and 3. The train brought down the tall historic speaker tower (look at Union Station photos older than this date) and bumped up against the station canopies, also damaging the historic "close clearance" illuminated signs. During the reattempt of rerailing the train with wood blocks and locomotive run around to the other end, it derailed even more axles. Later today, the train would be rerailed with cranes.
