The Selkirk to Potomac Yard "Washingtonian" is passing through Dumont, once the end of many suburban trains, while fellow railfans P & B record the moment. Note the water bottle on the nose of the SD35. This was standard practice at the time. They guys in the cab will need that cold water too, as this train still has to CP Waldo, where it will entier the Passaic & Harsimus Branch, then to Waverly Junction, where it will enter the Northeast Corridor for its long run to Virginia.
