| IN 1966 the Maine Central was still running long freights (125 or so cars), trying to cover each destination with one train a day. On this particular day a second freight was dispached to Rumford Paper to cover a high volume of orders for newsprint. Remember the Vietnam war was just getting hot and we were starting to bomb Hanoi. The newspaper business was never better. |
