| FGW marshalled two Valenta-engined power cars (43002 and 43003) and a rake of non-refurbished coaches together, as a final farewell to the Valenta engines on FGW. The train is seen here shortly before departure with the 17:00 to Bristol Temple Meads. The number '253001' was applied at both ends of the train earlier in the day in reference to the original numbering scheme used by HSTs. |
